Showdown 64 Version 6.0.4 nintendo 64

In order to play the game in its intended form, you need to use a patched copy of WWF No Mercy.  Without the patch, you will run into occasional graphical glitches in the game due to things that we changed in the base ROM.  To install the patch you will need a copy of the original WWF No Mercy (U) (V1.0) [!].z64 ROM.  We are not legally allowed to give you the link to the ROM file.  You need to obtain one yourself by dumping your own cartridge (or by finding a copy of it online).

How to apply the patch:
- Make a copy of the original ROM (for backup).

- Open the online ROM Patcher website.  (Other patch programs can be used instead, but I would recommend this online patcher because you are able to use the program no matter what type of system you are playing on.)

- For the "ROM file," browse for and select your original WWF No Mercy (U) (V1.0) [!].z64 ROM.

- For the "Patch file," open the folder labeled as "...\Showdown 64 V6.0.4\Games" and select the patch file labeled as "Apply this patch to a 'WWF No Mercy (U) (V1.0) [!]' ROM.rup."

- Click on the "Apply patch" button.

- Save the file that it generates for you.  You should now have a patched copy of your ROM file.

- (Optional) Rename your patched ROM to a useful name that describes what it is (for example: Showdown 64.z64).

- Move your patched ROM into your "...\Showdown 64 V6.0.4\Games" folder.

Instructions:
- This mod is only compatible with Project64 2.1 and Jabo's Direct3D8 1.7.0.57-ver5 plugin (The default Project 64 2.1 video plugin).  As a result, this project is not compatible with Android/mobile emulators.

- Once you have downloaded the ZIP file of the project, extract its contents to your desired location.

- Place your patched ROM file (from the previous section) in your "...\Showdown 64 V6.0.4\Games" folder.

- Open Project64.exe in the main folder of the project.

- Choose the directory your ROM is located in by going to File -> Choose Rom Directory...

- Navigate to the "...\Showdown 64 V6.0.4\Games" folder so the emulator knows where your game is located.

- Edit your emulator settings by going to Options -> Settings...

- Under the Options -> Directories tab, select your Texture Directory to be "...\Showdown 64 V6.0.4\Textures" which is the location for all of the new textures.

- Under the Plugins tab, make sure that your Video (graphics) plugin is "Jabo's Direct 3D8 1.7.0.57-ver5" or else the textures will not load correctly.  Everything else should be set up correctly already.

- After clicking the Apply button and then the OK button, right click on your ROM and then select "Edit Cheats."

- Make sure the "Showdown 64" box is checked in your Cheats Menu and nothing else.

- Once you have everything set up, double click on your ROM to play.

- If you notice any errors, try to run Project 64 as an administrator.

Q:How do I switch between the different promotions in the arenas?  I do not see the 30 arenas that are previewed.
A:When you are on the arena select menu, press either C-Left, C-Down, or C-Right.


Q:Why are there not as many match type choices as there should be?  I do not see any option for the Deathmatch.
A:PLEASE READ THE INSTRUCTIONS.  Make sure that all of the Showdown 64 cheats are checked in the cheat menu and that nothing else is checked.  Also, if you already had an earlier version of Showdown installed, delete the old texture files before installing the new ones.


Q:When I start the game, my emulator's screen turns black and does not do anything else.  What happened?
A:PLEASE READ THE INSTRUCTIONS.  Make sure that all of the Showdown 64 cheats are checked in the cheat menu and that nothing else is checked.


Q:Why are textures not loading correctly?  All of the wrestlers have weird attires.
A:PLEASE READ THE INSTRUCTIONS.  Check your directories to make sure that they are correct.


Q:Why does the back of the wrestlers' heads look weird?  Also, why does the shorts of some wrestlers like John Cena and Brock Lesnar look glitched with some parts of the texture missing and they look shorter than they should be?
A:PLEASE READ THE INSTRUCTIONS.  You need to patch your ROM in newer versions of Showdown 64.


Q:Why are there glitches in the championship and survival modes?
A:Both championship mode and survival mode are not really supported in Showdown 64.  This is because of all of the moveset and match hacks. There is not really any way to fix this at the moment.


Q:How do I get outside in the Hell in a Cell Match?  Also, how do I climb its sides?
A:This has not been implemented yet.


Q:How do I make and add my own custom wrestlers into game?
A:We have included a creator's kit for you in the downloads section if you would like to create your own content.


Q:I made some custom content (wrestlers, arenas, hacks, etc).  Am I able to contribute to the mod?
A:Anyone is welcome to help out with the mod.  If your work is good enough and if it is able to fit into the game I would gladly try to get it into a future update.  However, simply submitting your work will not guarantee that it will make it into the final version.
